Saturday Foundations Classes
Designed to nurture Chinese language skills from the roots up
Saturday Chinese School
Time: Saturdays, 1:30–3:30pm
Term Length: 10 weeks per term
Curriculum: Chinese foundation, songs and movement, moral stories and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.
Level: Background Beginner 1
Class Size: 2-10 students
Aim: To build foundation Chinese language skills according to international Children’s Chinese benchmarks (TOCFL and CCCC - A1-A1). Immersive language is taught through textbook, moral stories and STEM. This dynamic approach encourages students to enjoy learning Chinese and builds cross-curriculum language skills into the future.
Price: $180 per term ($18/ class)*
* Tuition fees are based on enrolment for the term. There are no make-up lessons in case of absence.
Saturday Chinese Extension
Time: Saturdays, 3:30–4:300pm
Term Length: 10 weeks per term
Curriculum: Chinese advanced focusing on writing and word recognition activities
Level: Background Beginner 2
Class Size: 2-5 students
Aim: This program is an extension of the Saturday Chinese School designed for students seeking accelerated progress, focusing on recognising and writing Traditional Chinese characters.
Price: $70 per term ($7/ class)*
Saturday Private Lesson
Time: Saturdays 9-12:30pm, 5-8pm
Term Length: 10-12 weeks per term
Curriculum: This class tailors its lessons to each individual’s needs and goals, whether it is preparing for the HSC Chinese beginners, Chinese continuers, TOCFL, workplace communication, or other objectives.
Level: Open Age and Level
Class Size: 1 student
Aim: Lessons are personalised to the student’s level, learning style, and timeline. Plans emphasise targeted skill development - reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, and exam techniques. Progress is monitored regularly, and pace and content are adjusted to ensure steady improvement and readiness for specific tests or real-world tasks. Individually tailored, customised materials support efficient, outcomes-driven learning.
Price: $50 per hour

Reciting Classical Text

Term Length: 10 weeks per term
Curriculum: 四書五經 Four Books and Five Classics
Level: Open Age and Level
Aim: This class helps students become familiar with Chinese Classical texts. The first text we’ll be studying is The Analects 論語.
Price: $100 per term, for one day a week ($10/class)*

Chinese Calligraphy
5:00-5:30pm
Time: Monday - Thursday, 5:00–5:30pm
Term Length: 10 weeks per term
Curriculum: Learning Chinese Calligraphy, Oracle Bone Script
Level: Open Age and Level
Aim: This is a fun class that helps students recognise Chinese characters and their origins.
Price: $100 per term, for one day a week ($10/class)*
Reciting Classics (Online)
7:15-8:00am
Time: Tuesday - Thursday, Saturday 7:15-8am
Term Length: 10 weeks per term
Curriculum: 四書五經 Four Books and Five Classics
Level: Open Age and Level
Aim: This class is held online in the morning, providing students more exposure and opportunity to regularly learn Chinese classics. The text that we will be reciting is The book of Changes 易經.
Price: $200 per term, for four days per week ($5/class)*
